PRODUCTIONS IN IRELAND & SCOTLAND

End of year productions are over in some parts of the country this week, and so far have been a resounding start to the performance season. In north west Ireland, the students acted their hearts out! Here are some pictures from 'The Snake Charmer' - a Lower Primary production for children up to the age of 9.
The Sultan and his daughter Princess Yasmin

A similar production of the play was staged in the Glasgow area.
In Ireland, again, the children produced their version of 'The Sword In The Stone'
Will that sword come out of that stone?
This one obviously won't!
And these knights are most annoyed because they couldn't extract the sword!
In Scotland, too, the end of term has arrived. These pictures are from Glasgow Principal Jackie Andrew:

Pirates on the open seas! The Bold Buccaneers.
Also in Scotland, Tayforth Principal, Barbara Brett, finished her shows last weekend - to great acclaim!
Youth Theatre production - Blood On Their Hands?
Youth Theatre production - Soap Suds
This week, Principals in England have started their productions so be sure to check back for more pictures during the next couple of weeks.

SUCCESSFUL PRODUCTIONS IN TOKYO

The first Helen O'Grady Drama Academy opened in Tokyo last September and they have recently completed their first set of year-end productions. Principal, Tenie Sangma, even showed a selection of exercises from her Kindy Drama class, and they all took the opportunity to dress as dinosaurs!

Tenie runs away from the STRONG dinosaurs!

"I can't see my teacher anywhere!"

"Now no-one can see me!"
Older children presented their rendition of "The Wedding" and the "Sword In The Stone". These are the great sets they used:
The wedding car ready to take the bride and groom on honeymoon.
"Who will be king?"
Parents were thrilled to see their children performing for the first time:

"My husband and I wanted to congratulate you (and your husband) for a fabulous show today.  Everyone did a fantastic job and we were pleased to see how Sara had grown over the last few months.  She thoroughly enjoyed herself and we are proud of her!

Thank you and your team for all the great work!

Good night.  Nami"

"BRAVO! Great job, Tenie!  You have worked so hard, and today's performance was a fabulous culmination of your efforts!  We all enjoyed the performances tremendously and feel very proud of Kjerstin and her peers.  Thank you!!!

Now, sit back and relax!

"Thank you for the beautiful show today! The children were amazing!
He REALLY loves drama! :)
You must be sighing with relief and happiness that it all went so well!

Love Gaelle and Gabriel"

SUMMER PRODUCTIONS UNDERWAY!

Already, Principals Monique and Vince Bunuan in the Philippines have their productions underway. Summer comes early in Manila! Monique, who has been running summer schools in her first year of operation, produced some great shows! We love the Ants and Grasshopper costumes!
ANTS IN REHEARSAL
THE ANTS AND THE GRASSHOPPER - READY TO GO!
Older students attended 'The Party Of The Year' in their production of "Fancy That!" Gloria Van Den Bergen always throws a lavish party, this year it's all in fancy dress. Three aliens: Micro, Macro and Sprocket, feel right at home and no-one realises they are visiting from another planet!
FANCY THAT!
FANCY THAT
When Gloria's precious necklace goes missing, the 'Revolting Robinsons' (who they believe are dressed as aliens!) are the prime suspects.
WOODROSE DRESS REHEARSAL FOR FANCY THAT!

Congratulations to the students and staff in Manila for a set of fantastic shows!

Classes in the UK will be ready to perform in a few weeks time.

At Saturday's Seminar, teachers and Principals put their all into workshopping the curriculum for Production Term. More than 70 people attended the Seminar and all have gone back to their classes very excited about the coming term. We look forward to posting pictures of the shows they prepared in their own classes.
